The Whole Armor of God

Girdle or Apron of Truth
who we are in Christ
who He is in us
God’s child
I am equipped
I’m a saint

Breastplate of Righteousness
protection of emotions/heart
what I feel
lest I respond emotionally instead of out of truth

Sandals of the Gospel of Peace
1. to make peace; to bring others to the peace of God
2. to be an instrument of peace; an expression of his peace

Shield of Faith
total coverage, protection
immediate, quick
protection from fiery darts

Helmet of Salvation
protects mind, thinking
I can think the truth
I can reject Satan’s suggestions and thoughts

Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God
1. Word there to rely upon and deflect Satan’s darts
2. to share truth with others and bring them into a right relationship

RESULT
When attacks come, I am ready.

Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Stand, therefore, having your loins girded about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness,
and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith, with which ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:13–17
