Inspiration for Today

Yesterday ashes, tomorrow is wood; only today does the fire burn brightly.

Just Do It!

I have not been making the best use of my time, though I do accomplish a lot. But I am realizing I need to come back to this page to keep the big picture in mind. Kind of a “can’t see the forest for the trees” problem. I was keeping my daily checklists on this page—the trees—but losing sight of the bigger picture of what I am trying to accomplish—the forest. It feels like it might take a little effort to get back on task. But I surely must back off and look at things from a broader viewpoint. I have also discovered that I’ve felt so “accomplished” at what I get done with my Weekly Planner, that I have not even been taking time to consider what other tasks need to be moved higher on the list.

I have fallen a bit behind on bookkeeping, which entails business expense, business mileage, medical expense, and monthly expense. I have been much occupied all summer with taking care of Medicare and supplemental insurance, insurance for J and A, issues with my job (which have now been resolved), and trying to keep the house presentable for the short-but-more-frequent visits from A’s lady and a visit from my sister and brother-in-law.

Despite all the things I do getting done, it is when I cannot keep up with paperwork that I feel most like I am not accomplishing what really should be done. Too many weekends have passed with my attitude of  “This week I really must catch up!” or “Next weekend will finally be the weekend I can caught some paperwork done!” And the weekends just keep slipping by. Today I was tempted to take a nap, which is not a bad thing necessarily. I also wanted to watch one of the movies recorded from television for some day. But instead, I have been doing bookkeeping.

I also created another blog page, for the Weekly Planner, and get back to writing on this blog page.

’Tis good!

Separating To Do Lists from Inspiration

Today I started another page that allows me to keep the planners all in one place. For those who wish to see how that works, you can click on the link above, “Her Weekly Planner.”

I had somewhat lost my way on this blog, with the checklists here. I want to renew my purpose on this page by writing on topics to inspire and motivate. I plan to get back to setting goals for taking in the information that motivates and inspires me and then writing about it here.

Back to the purpose for which I started this blog!
